It's Never Too Late To Live
Playing guitar

For a long time my life’s motto was “It’s never too late to learn”, a piece of advice my guitar teacher bestowed upon me at the ripe old age of 16 when I told him I believed it was too late for me to learn how to read music and play the piano (something I had always dreamed of doing). He went on to convince me that “it’s never too late to learn anything”, and that he himself was learning to play a new instrument! This teacher not only motivated and inspired me with his words, but bought me a teach-yourself-music-theory workbook, which I completed and was able to prove to myself that it wasn’t, in fact, too late to learn. I fulfilled a dream that I believed was impossible. The barriers that were inhibiting me started to crumble and the realm of possibilities opened upWhat else have I always wanted to do?!  Any and everything that interested me, I would give it a try.

After some time, this “making my dreams a reality” mission morphed into a journey of self-awareness and personal development. I was spending more time thinking about myself (what interested me; what was possible) and the more I considered these things, the more I started asking “why?” Why did I want to spend my time and money pursuing this? What purpose and meaning would this bring to my life? What did I want in my life? I became exceedingly curious in learning about the most important thing any of us could learn about: ourselvesI started researching self-development, human behavior, and optimization of time and resources by reading books, watching seminars, and listening to motivational speakers. I also started journaling on a regular basis. Improving self-awareness had been the most fruitful endeavor of my life because I learned vital things about myself: my habits, tendencies, styles, buried emotions, inefficiencies, etc. With this heightened level of awareness, I could uncover the inspiration behind my dreams, and optimize my time, money, and energy in order to effectively pursue them.

At this point, my life’s motto changed to “It’s Never Too Late To Live”To me, “living” is combination of two things: awareness and action. It’s about knowing myself, discovering the things that make me feel alive, and doing them. And it’s never too late. At any point we can decide to learn more about ourselves and take action in pursuing those things that make us feel alive. By doing so we can live a life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and enjoyable; a life we can be proud of; that we can look back on with no regret; and that we can live each day thriving in, instead of drudging through. It’s easier than it seems, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start, what to do, or how to continue. Having useful information and someone to help inspire and motivate us along the way, makes the journey a little easier and a lot more enjoyable, and that’s why I created IN(TeL)². I want to help others break down barriers, improve self-awareness, discover the things that excite them, and take action to accomplish them in order to live a life that is fun and fulfilling. It is possible and it’s never too late.
